I photograph landscapes, seascapes, forests, flowers, plants, sometimes wildlife. My photographs are interpretations, the products of my interactions with my subject matter. Instead of presenting just the reality of things, I find my fascination in transforming it into a subjective perspective. ‘Making’ an image rather than ’ taking’ a picture – less description, more imagination; less documentation, more suggestion. By manipulating color, light, shadows, contrast and texture, sometimes combining multiple photographs, I seek to create images of beauty, and I trust that the enchantment, the poetry will follow. Once the images are processed, a metal print is created by infusing dyes, using heat and pressure, directly into coated brushed aluminum plates. As the light plays with the sheer metal and the inks, the images will take on an almost magical luminescence. The images shown in these galleries are from all around the world. The common thread between them is the connection, the resonance I felt while photographing.
