#495. Three boats on Loch Farr

There’s a full post on the way which will cover the past week’s wanderings in northern Scotland. Queue jumping it is this short piece, unplanned yesterday and un-thought of until just after 06:00 this morning.

The weather is very much as you see in the header image. At least for now. This is Scotland after all and it could rain at any moment.

We’re staying for a couple of days in Farr, just south of Inverness and within a short drive of Grantown, our destination for next week. And, as is so often the way, this morning I went out camera in hand, to explore the area.

This is what I found.

Some of the images were shot with a Leica M9 and an ancient 35mm f2 Summicron. The rest used my Fuji X-Pro2 with either the 35mm or 16mm lenses.

You’re just going to nonchalantly mention, oh-by-the-way-style, the appearance of the letter M and the digit 9 in your life? You though we wouldn’t notice, maybe? Or care? Unacceptable, Mr Perton 😀 😀 😀

Facetious silliness over. Great pics of what appears to be a little paradise. Thanks !!

Well Mr J, the article I had planned is still in the word wringer and will appear soon. The M tale is there, in an attempt to justify myself.

As I think the opening sentence will say; “It was Bob’s fault…”

I love the first shot with the M9, Paul – I look out for tonings like that, although I must admit it sometimes makes me feel that I’m chasing dandelion flowers !!

Lovely, transporting images. I’d be hard pressed to pick a favorite.

Nice teaser, I am looking forward to the full article!

    Paul

Welcome to the dark (M9) side. I think you will find that it is a worthy addition to your stable. It has a rendering that is quite nice.

I think you will like the ancient Summichron, they have character that the aspherics lack which adds to the experience.

    Enjoy
